According to the government of Manila City on Friday, hundreds of trucks were used to clean up the mess left behind by thousands of Black Nazarene devotees during the Traslacion 2020.
Advertising The Manila Department of Public Services gathered about 330 tons of garbage equal to 68 truckloads during the religious event that took place on Thursday.
However, this figure was relatively lower than last year’s figure.
On the basis of data from the Manila Public Information Office, about 387.4 tons of garbage equivalent to 99 truckloads were collected during Traslacion 2019.
EcoWaste Coalition environmental watchdog had previously lamented the irresponsible disposal of waste at Rizal Park and other Manila streets during this year’s Traslacion.
