The “Board Man” contains decided. Kawhi Leonard will likely be teaming up with Paul George the next NBA season with the Los Angeles Clippers, in accordance with league sources.
ESPN Senior citizen NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski has confirmed Friday night that Leonard agreed upon with the Clippers while the Oklahoma City Thunder traded in George for a record-setting number of draft choices.
“Kawhi Leonard has been seen recruiting Paul George to plan to get to the Clippers and then LA dragged it off tonight : George goes to the Clippers with Leonard , and together they go into Staples Central part to go head-to-head with LeBron James and then Anthony Davis,” Woj tweeted.
Sources said Leonard is expected to sign a four-year, $142 million the maximum contract. League resources also said ESPN that George approached the team and then requested for for a trade after Kawhi pushed him to find a way to get a chance to the Clippers. The Clippers will send 4 unprotected first-round picks, one protected-first rounded pick, and then two picks swaps to the Thunder, which includes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Galllinari.
Over the last week, Leonard met with 3 teams, namely the Clippers, Lakers, and then Toronto Raptors to discuss his plans in free agency.
