Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III on a report said Sunday, stated that by April, 2019, the nation of Japan might require about 100,000 Filipino workers in several fields of employment and job opportunities.
Labor secretary cited the 100,000 job vacancies is part of the of the 350,000 jobs Japan is arrangement to open to foreign workers.
According to Bello, DOLE is set to sign an agreement in Tokyo by Tuesday over a memorandum of cooperation with various representatives of Japan’s ministries of justice, foreign affairs, health, labor and welfare, and national policy agency.
Required labor skills that Japan may need will be laid down in the memorandum of cooperation, Bello added.
At present, Japan mainly needs workers in healthcare, maintenance, food services, electronics, agriculture, and construction, among others.
Potential applicants are essential to pass the technical and language skills examination.
