The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deployed nearly 800 frontline officials to Philippine airports and ports amid the outbreak of a new coronavirus, prompting a temporary ban on travelers from China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Immigration spokeswoman Dana Sandoval assured the frontliners that their well-being and safety were of great concern, giving the risks of their occupation, as they had direct and face-to-face contact with the traveling public.
‘Immigration officials are discovering, BI port operations chief Grifton Medina said its staff. Officers will cover the service at regular counters and for those who voluntarily return home or return.
Perete said a special team of officials will handle immigration procedures for Filipinos returning home in Hubei.
