The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority declared the two-year closure of the Estrella Service Road starting March 23 at 11 p.m. to make way for the rehabilitation of Estrella-Pantaleon or Rockwell Bridge.
The MMDA stated in a press briefing that the closure will begin from Gumamela Street ending on J.P. Rizal Avenue.
About 500 vehicles are averaging use of the road every hour. Motorists are advised to take an alternate route: From EDSA or Rockwell, take a turn right at Gumamela Street and a left at Camia Street to J.P. Rizal Avenue.
The road will reopen along with the bridge once the repairs are finished. The Department of Public Works and Highways plans to finish construction by 2021
