DFA announces Malaysian Prime Minister’s two-day visit

The Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohammad will be visiting the Philippines from March 6-7 for an official appointment with the president and for the first time since he became the 7th prime minister of Malaysia in 2018.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), President Rodrigo Duterte requested Prime Minister Mahathir to have a bilateral meeting “to survey and discuss cooperation in the political, economic, and people-to-people spheres, and exchange views on the topics of mutual importance.”

The DFA said that the Prime Minister will also meet with Senate President Vicente Sotto III and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

He already had several bilateral official visits in 1987 and 1994 during his previous Prime Ministerial terms.
