Bus carrying passenger commuters caught ablaze on EDSA on Friday night. According the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the fire happened at one lane towards the northbound side near the EDSA Shaw tunnel.
The bus had at least 30 passengers on board, thankfully none were hurt from the fire.
According to initial information from Mandaluyong Fire Protection unit, the blaze began around 6:30 p.m. and was declared out past 7 p.m. Patrolman Jayrome Maggay from the Eastern Police District (EPD) said the flames ignited from the back portion of the bus.
Maggay stated about 30 passengers were evacuated from the bus shortly after smoke appeard and the driver was the last one off. Maggay added that there was an explosion heard shortly.
The bus was traversing the route Novaliches Alabang via Novaliches via Malinta exit via EDSA-NLEX.
