Lifeless body of a 16-year-old girl, Christine Silawan was discovered early morning at an empty lot in Sitio Mahayahay in Barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City, March 11.
PO1 Lyno Pino of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office said that the girl was found dead, half undressed in an empty lot with half of her face skinned.
PO3 Dan Gacosgacos, prime investigator to the case, identified the girl as a resident of barangay Mactan serving as an offering collector in the nearby Sacred Heart Parish Church in the adjacent Barangay of Pajac.
Pino, citing Gacosgacos reply that the girl, a 9th Grade student at the Maribago National High School, served in the evening mass on Sunday then went missing afterwards. She was found Monday morning at a 2-hectare lot 500 meters away from the nearest residential area.
He added that the they are now looking at the CCTV footage of the church to look for who Silawan was with before her death.
The remains were claimed by her mother and positively identified the victim as her daughter. Pino concluded that motive of the killing has yet to be established prior to investigation.
