A fire broke out in a residential area in Tondo, Manila on Saturday night.where six people, including a 64-year-old woman, were agonized by injuries caused by the incident.
Senior Supt. Jonas Silvano of the Manila City fire marshal said in a report that some of those hurt who were identified Gerald Brown, 38; Nenita Lardizabal, age 64; and Imee Parayne, 20.
Injuries were described as Brown hurt with lacerations whereas Lardizabal whose blood pressure shot up because of the fire. Parayne, in contrast, grumbled of pain on her left leg.
Leizel Miles, age 42, and an unnamed resident were both treated for hardness in breathing while Manuel Corpus, 34, suffered a cut on his finger.
Silvano’s report stated the fire sparjed at a three-storey house of Aldrin Manansala on Launasa Street at Barangay 155. Manansala was later detained after investigators found out he had deliberately started the blaze. He would be charged in court on Monday.
Around 50 houses and 150 families were victimized by the fire that lasted for more than three hours. Fire began at 8:33 p.m. and stretched to the fourth alarm 20 minutes later and was declared fire out around 11:45 p.m.
The Manila fire department stated damages to property was projected at around a million pesos.
